Second Day . . .
I'm up early and I've eaten my breakfast. Off to a great start. I have a couple of task or chores to do today. I'm going to help with the rummage sale at church. Then I'm going to watch two of my grandsons today. I also want to get some sewing in today.
Busy . . . 53014
My day started with my mom calling. She was being discharged from the hospital. I let myself get upset and annoyed because she wanted me to come and pick her up. I should've said no and I didn't. I made myself angry. Why didn't I just say NO!? I have to start speaking up and saying no when I should.

Seam Ripper
The seam ripper is a sewers best friend. I have to rip out all of the stitches from one of the student's quilts. She didn't have a walking foot to quilt the quilt so the stitches didn't stitch correctly. The hard task is that her thread is black and hard to see where the stitches are.
Missed a day . . . 52814
I'm not sure how or why but I forgot to blog yesterday. I did go to the school to quilt with the students, and I went to visit my mom after that. She's still in the hospital.

What's next . . . ?
I started my challenge and now I have to finish it. I got stuck because the colors were blah. I went to Rock Paper Scissors and bought more fabric. Hopefully I have the right color to make it Pop!

A Trip to Rock Paper Scissors
I needed a darker fabric for my Michael Miller challenge, so I went to Rock Paper Scissors and bought several solid fabrics. I hope I made a good choice.

Not feeling the top
I started working on the Michael Miller challenge. I'm really not feeling the fabrics. I've made four windmills at night blocks, but the fabric doesn't pop; it doesn't thrill me.

Emergency Room
My mom's doctor appointment sent her to the emergency room. She hasn't been taking care of herself like she should, and she got a boil in her groin area. Of course it grew and then burst. It had a foul order and she needed an antibiotic to get rid of the infection. Our visit to the emergency room lasted until eight pm. That's when she was taken to her room where she will stay for a couple of days. My pray is that she will have no complications from this infection.
Dreary Weather
All this week we have had wet weather. Little sprinkles here and there to great down pours. My body; especially my knees have had a jolt. I'm still thankful for each and every rainy day that I have. Yesterday my sister said "what a nice day" I shook my head and wanted to say it wasn't, but she was right. It was a nice day because it was a day that God had made. We went to sew with the seniors but they were celebrating Memorial Day with a picnic style dinner. We stayed for an hour and then came home.

Yesterday . . .
Yesterday was a good day. I worked with Elijah on his quilt. We made some minor adjustments and corrections, and he began pinning it for the final stage. The three layers will be quilted now. I have to work on the labels, programs, and certificates for our 2nd annual reception. If I have time I want to share one of my quilts or make that bandana bag for the teacher; the one that Wanda forgot to give her bag to.

Started . . .
Oh well, I did cut out 2.5" strips yesterday and some 5" squares. I'm still not sure what I'm going to make. I saw a bag that Jenny Doan was making but it wasn't quilted, so I may make that bag and just quilt it. I'm still thinking about it. So many thoughts and ideas.

Visit with a friend . . .
Neddra's in town and I'm going to meet up with her before she goes back home. She moved to Georgia many many years ago. She's in town attending her stepdaughter's graduation.

Another Full Day . . .
I'm starting out by taking a friend some place early this morning and then my mom to the doctor. Everything worked out in an orderly fashion. I took my mom for blood work before her scheduled time and then my sister and I went to the supermarket. I was able to pick up my friend and take her home. I got a call from WP1's mom. He hadn't been picked up from school so my sister and I had to rush to his school and pick him up. I took him home and spent a little time talking with his dad. I have my NJMQG meeting tonight at seven tonight. I thank God that I was able to do what I did today. I thank God for ordering my day. One bite at a time.

Jelly roll quilts . . .
I worked with the quilters at Avon Ave school today. Two of the quilters are sewing together their three layers. The other three are still working on their tops. I really enjoy working with the students.

A New Beginning . . .
I've decided to purge my winter clothes. I have to free up some space in my house. I have to get rid of things. I have to de-clutter my life. I have stuff everywhere. I have to take clothes to the Red Cross container.

Another year . . .
Happy Mother's Day to me. I'm so thankful for all of the people that God sends my way. I'm so thankful for my immediate and extended family. I'm so thankful for my aunt Tunie. God has truly blessed me with this day.

Today . . .
I've been thinking about what to do today. I know I have to recycle and get rid of some clothes. I did complete the program for church; although I wasted fifty sheets of paper and had to change the toner in the printer. Today I'm praying that God will help me do all that I must do today.

Communication . . .
Sometimes we say things that get construed. I think what happens is that we really don't listen to what is being said.
Busy Day 5814
I had a very busy day! I didn't take it one bite at a time. So, I forgot to blog. I finally got back to the senior quilters and of course they were celebrating and having a dinner for Mother's Day. So, we did not sew; we ate! I just love the fact that they love to celebrate. Karen is a remarkable teacher and she works well with the senior quilters. She taught them how to make a bias binding. I wanted to show them a continuous binding but didn't have a chance due to sickness and then my trip.

Thread a Needle
I am really hoping I get to the school today to work with the students. I've missed so much time volunteering. So that's my goal for this day. Eat that elephant one bite at a time, but today I'm trying to eat three bites at a time.

Back to reality . . .
This is the third day since I returned from my cruise. Of course I've had some anxiety and stress I didn't go to Helen's wake. I started doing something else and the time slipped away. I did get to quilt today. I was so glad to be with my quilt buddies. As usual we talked, laugh, and sewed together. I just love this time with them.

Ten Days . . . April 24th to May 3rd
I've been gone for such a long time; okay only tens days or maybe eleven days without blogging. I wrote while I was away; not everyday but I tried to chronicle my days on the cruise. I had a great time and was very glad that I went. I kept a photo journal while I was away and I want to make a dvd of my trip. I am looking forward to doing it again in the near future. I spoke with one of my sisters who suggested that we do a sister cruise. I would really like to do that, so that will be my next cruise. While I was away my block that I made for Modern Quilt Guild was runner up. I didn't win anything but I was glad to read about that. I can't wait to go to my meeting in three weeks. I've been away from everything and now it's time to get back to reality one bite at a time.
