A New List
I've added two more projects to my list of things that I want to do. I know I have a list to help me remember the things that I have to do, but I realize that my list is going no where. I listened to a minister preach yesterday and she said you have to let go of those to do list and trust that God will help you through all that you have to do. I truly believe she was correct in saying that. I have list that I still haven't completed. Why? I haven't the foggiest but I know now that I'm going to trust God to get all that has to be completed done. This is the end of one month and the beginning of another and I have to begin with a change in me. One bite at a time! I know that I have a trust issue but it should have never been wit God. That's why I have no companion and that's why I meddle in my sons' affairs of the heart.

Charity . . . and a Celebration
I had a great time yesterday at the March Madness Marathon. We were sewing quilts for a charity; Quilting for Kids. We were group into two teams. There was definitely a competition going on. Well of course my team didn't win, but I had a good time working towards winning. We finished a lot of quilt tops that have to be sandwiched together. I finished one backward pillowcase, two twelve and a half inch blocks and one crib size jelly roll top. I also gave a pre-made quilt top and a piece of fabric. This is only the beginning. Now we have a lot of things to finish.
Today we were going to celebrate Alexis' birthday at McCloons' Boathouse restaurant but it had too be cancelled because they couldn't accommodate the eighteen people who were attending.

March Madness!
We have a sewathon today in West Caldwell. It starts at nine o'clock and ends at five o'clock. I'm going to get there as early as I can. I have a couple of things to do before I go.

The Gift . . .
I have to make some labels for my sewn projects. I forget to put them on my bags or small quilts when I finish them. I have to get into the habit of doing this.

Soon there will be Teeth . . .
My mom is going to the dentist. This will be her third visit since she's been fitted for teeth. I'm so glad we did this. Hopefully this ill make her feel better and that she will use them when she needs them; like everyday.

One UFO down . . .
Yesterday I worked on one of my three year old UFOs. I'm making two lap quilts, and I decided to use quilt tops that I already have. Today I quilt with the Thread a Needle club. I haven't seen them in two weeks. Hope they haven't finished their quilts.

Day Two . . .
This is the second day of my count down towards for my trip. Day one was a washout but I plan to make this day a rewarding one. I am going to wash my clothes and get ready for this evening. I quilt tonight and want to be ready.

Quick . . .
I was asked to make two blankets; quilted or crocheted. I decided to make lap quilts. I have several quilt tops already made. I'm going to use what I have. Hopefully I can make them quickly.

No Take Backs . . .
I have to remember to give away things and not look through them or decide I still could use them. I have to clean up the clutter and I have less than a month to do it.

I'm not sure of what's happening but it looks like we have all come down with some kind of stomach virus.

Free Motion or what?
I really need to work on my quilting techniques. I have several sandwiched quilts that have to be either tied or quilted. I need to clean up my sewing room and get quilting. I have to decide on the technique to use.

Finally Finished!
Drab Colors Wednesday, March 19, 2014
I cut out an eight and a half square on Tuesday, so I decided to try the Magic 8 method. Well, I chose the wrong colors. Two drab colors did not make the half square triangles pleasing to the eye. I have to find a bright pungent color to compliment it. I was just mucking around but I have to find away to use the blocks.
What's on your Bucket List?
I've been following The Late Night blogger. She's created a quilting bucket list. Her list has projects that she wants to complete.

One Bite at a Time . . .
I poster sized two blank calendars, so I can write down my schedule and projects that I'm working on. Right now I am working on my Tea Cup challenge. I went to my quilt group tonight and worked on this next challenge. In the meantime I've been asked to make another children's scarf and hat set. This time for one of my great nephews. So that will be added on my plate.

Working on a Different Part . . .
As I move around on my full plate I begin to take a bite from another part of the plate. Yes, that's how you eat it one piece at a time. I've been working on two of my projects and feel good about my progress. Now I have to turn my plate to see what else I have to eat. The doctor appointments are there, the house cleanings are there, and the projects are there. The issue is how to get them done without overwhelming me, so far I'm trying to plan and prepare for it. I still haven't gotten a place on that plate for my mental, physical, and spiritual growth. I keep putting it there and letting it fall off; as though it weren't important. As they say I've been letting it slide. If I don't take care of me it doesn't matter what I try to do it's not going to work.

Detour . . .
What's next? Didn't plan my day. I just went with my feelings and did what I felt I had to do. I'm glad I did!

Start again . . .
Up early, and it's time for me to tackle that plate again. I haven't stayed on task in awhile now. I have several task to do in the house and I have to print out the program's for church. I also have to get ready for tomorrow. This is my Saturday for the food pantry. I never met with Rev. McCain to enter the information into Access. So it's time to start again eating that elephant one bite at a time.

Time . . .
There's never enough time to do all that you try to accomplish in a day. That's why I know I have to take one bite at a time. I feel good because I did start two projects. That Big Bag that I started last month I'm finally putting it together. I cancelled last night with the student quilters. I have to prepare and plan my week; although things may change.

Started working on it . . .
I sewed all day and completed the first part of my second challenge. I had to take it out at least four times. I was so into finishing this section of the quilt top that I didn't pay the time any mind. I looked up and it was 7:10. I decided not to quilt last night. I wasn't feeling well; coughing too much. I stopped by the center to pay and let them know I wouldn't be there. Then I went to Walgreen's to get me some over the counter medicine. I started taking it last night. But I was so please with myself because I have the beginning of my quilt top completed. Now I have to decide what color to add to the quilt before I add my three black and white borders.

Figure it out!
I'm learning how to calculate the measurements for any given block that I want to make. Or I should say for making those HSTs. I found a blog that gave a tutorial on The Magic 8 technique. It not only gave step by step instructions. It also should you how to calculate the measurements once you determined you block size. Cool! I'm going to try this with my own block pattern that I created. Will post my completed block soon.

My Hunter's Star
I started last night before I went to be. I began my second challenge. I've decided to make the Hunter's Star for my next quilt top. My quilt group has a black and white borders challenge. I'm going to make the star and then border it in black and white.

Mancuso Quilt Festival
I decided to go to the quilt show after all. I went today. We rode with Karen and her mom. I bought a half rectangle ruler by Deb. Tucker and her diamond ruler. I'm going to use this to make my challenge quilt.

Off tasks . . .
Once again, I've added more to my plate that has nothing to do with completing the projects I already have. I started a hat and scarf set for my great niece in Omaha. I still have to finish my Big Bag and second Challenge.

What's Next?
I love looking at Pinterest. There are many ideas from many creative people. Some of the ideas that I see I've thought about doing.

Moving right along . . .

It's about time . . .
I started WP2's birthday pillow last night. I want to make him a pillow for his birthday until he turns five years old. I'm going to start making other shapes, not just the square ones. Maybe I can make him a doll shape or animal shape and still put his pictures on it. I will see. I have eleven months to get it done.

Save time
I guess I better start using my Accu Quilter. It's suppose to cut your quilting cutting time. I'm going to give it a try.

Next . . .
I'm starting two projects today. I bought two fat quarters and a yard of fabric from Wal Mart. I really didn't need it but I bought it anyway.

Moving on . . .
I did complete my knitted throw. I didn't follow their directions to a t, but I did finish it. I gave myself until the end of February and it is complete. Now I'm still behind on WP2's pillow, so that's my next project and then I move on to my second challenge. I received a text from Wanda and we will resume our Wednesday quilting club. That's GREAT! I miss it.
